Savita Cottage Reviews

Christopher
First, we were running late to the property and tried several times to make contact before the 900 p. M. closing time, but received no response. We arrived at the property at around 920 p.m., and no one was present. We later found that our booking had been cancelled, and we were unable to access the accommodation. As a result, we had to find alternative accommodation 30 miles away.
We do not believe that the listing accurately reflected the condition of the property it was far from luxury, the furnishings were very tired, carpet very stained and the bathroom whilst clean, it was not as depicted within the photographs. There was dust on every surface and the crockery and cutlery had to be cleaned prior to use it was as if the accommodation had not been used for a number of months prior to our visit. On an upside the ovenmicrowave had been updated and were clean. There was a problem with the hot water on day 2 instructions as to how to operate the boost would have been beneficial. Overall it could be made into a lovely holiday let, it just requires some TLC, investment in new carpet and a lick of paint throughout. I would suggest the installation of central heating and electric showers which would remove the dated hot water system and create more room in the 2nd bedroom as access is poor and the room cramped . The lodge is on a lovely site with very good leisure facilities, but the actual lodge did not meet with our overall expectation we came away disappointed with our stay sorry!
Fantastic cottage great area will be back next year
Lesley
The lodge needed a freshen up, but in a brilliant park with loads of space for kids to play, the park facilities were good especially the pool, staff were very friendly and the bar area was reasonably priced which was nice to see. Would return to this park again .
My family and I throughly enjoyed staying at the cottage, it was a home away from home. Comfortable clean relaxing, never used the dishwasher or washing machine while we where there so I can't comment on them. Loved the outlay totally loved the bedroom with ensuite. Showers where nice. I would love to come back at some point next year for another short break. Only comment to make was the vaccum didn't feel very powerful that you had acutally hoovered. But all in all a wonderful experience it was exactly what we needed. Shop in Dailly was good and so where the staff at the reception. Facilities was exactly what we needed.
We were very pleased with the accommodation. It was clean and comfortable. We did feel the kitchen could have benefited with a small sharp knife, baking tray, more knives & forks, mugs and maybe a pair of kitchen scissors. Especially when you are self catering, potentially for 6 people. I read the review from a gentleman in March 2024 and have to say he cant of been in Savita Cottage. The place is dated but not dirty!!!! The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and the swimming pool and sauna were lovely. Thank you xxx
Helene
Decor was very tired. Carpets need cleaned. Beds were OK and clean. Suite is in need of replacement cushions look filthy. No instructions regarding heating or hot water and only 1 person could shower unless want to wait an hour for water to heat again. TV reception not good. Kitchen not well equipped as described. Reception and facilities closed at 6.30pm Friday and Saturday we were there most disappointing. Roads around park were full of potholes. Paid 360 for 2 nights most definitely not worth this amount. I would not recommend and most certainly won't be back!!!

Lodges were spotless and very spacious. We took our parents here as this was their Christmas present. They are both in their 80s and had a fab time. Lovely wee lounge at reception to have a coffe or glass of wine staff were lovely and very helpful
Kirstin
The cottage was clean and comfortable. The welcome pack was a nice addition. Unfortunately the pool was closed for 2 days which was disappointing
All to the good, although there is a problem with the door to the outside seating area. Otherwise just a couple of small things I must bring a knife sharpener next time, and I can't use a frying pan that is not nonstick. Very peaceful location. We enjoyed ourselves.
Lovely lodge in beautiful setting, very clean on arrival and well equipped although a chopping board would be useful. The location is beautiful but quite remote if you have children and bad weather it could be quite limiting, thankfully we had lovely weather and explored some lovely country parks and beaches.
This cottage and the facilities are exactly as stated. Clean, comfortable and a quiet location. The ladies on site were very cheerful and helpful. Nice place for a quiet getaway.
The cottage was ideal for our break, well equipped and comfortable. The swimming pool in the leisure complex was a welcome addition especially the children. The two ladies on the reception desk were always cheerful, very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Two niggles with regard to the accommodation, the internal doors squeaked loudly and need a drop of oil and there is a constant tapping noise emanating from the water meter in the cupboard under the sink.
Christine
Lovely accommodation very thing we needed was there. Thank you
Shanaz
The only problem we had is when wanted to shower after 12 people showered the water kept getting freezing cold , we had to wait a few hours before anybody else could shower. Especially when the cottage is for 6 people staying
The lodge was really nice. Spacious and comfortable . We took our 3 grandchildren 11, 13, 15 with us. They loved it. Yes the carpet needed cleaning, however, this didn't influence us to be negative. I know some reviews were very negative. Don't let this put you off going. Thoroughly enjoyed been there. The pool was great. Couldn't get the kids out of it. All in all a wonderful holiday. And the park itself was really well looked after. The staff were lovely.
Robert
Nice property located in a nice peaceful park. The lodge itself was absolutely perfect for us,nice and clean with everything you could need. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful break and likes to wander. Many thanks.
We enjoyed our stay. Lovely quiet location. Very nice linen and towel. Well equipped kitchen. Bathrooms could do with a little TLC. Settee and armchairs need replacing and carpets a good clean.
Alexander
No information on how to use water and heat water up. Not useful when trying to shower family of 6 and got cold water.
I have already sent the customer relations team a long list of my comments which no one responded to it is buy far the worst lodge holiday I have had in Scotland the countryside is beautiful sadly the lodge is beyond disappointing we came home a day early. On Sunday night I was really upset to hear my granddaughter ask to go home. On all our other holidays its the opposite. At best it's total misrepresentation of these premises at its worst it's fraud the picture of the premises are totally outdated. I wish I had read the trip advisor reviews and not bothered to book total waste of money and more importantly our family holiday, I don't expect a refund but it would be the least you could do as a gesture of goodwill. As for publication of my feedbackcomplaint I don't think you will.
We had a very comfortable stay, although there were a few problems. The second day we had no hot water and was told at reception about the booster button for hot water. There is no information in the lodge about that. Also we could not open the door to the balcony, as there seemed to be a problem with the lock. We were out every day so that did not affect us too much. The lodge was all we needed and quiet, situated at the lower end of the site.
Nicola
The cottage is exactly as described but agree with other previous occupants that sofa is past its best and kitchen could do with some more utensils eg chopping board and wooden spoon.
Jelena
We really enjoyed staying at your accommodation. We had everything what we needed. Clean and comfortable. Thank you so much from family of 5.
We had a lovely relaxing holiday at Savita Cottage. We had everything we needed, and everything was very clean and well maintained. Our only minor concern was that it was a bit difficult to know what to do about recycling.
Michael
Comfortable cottage in lovely location. Could do with some additional equipment chopping boards, baking trays, cafetire and some updating but overall a very pleasant stay.
Unfortunately the cottage was in need of redecoration with some serious work needed around the bath. Information regarding the appliances would have helped especially in regard to the heating.
The chalet was immaculately clean on arrival and its location was ideal for our needs. Only one disappointment. The kettle was cracked and showed signs of melting! I informed the Reception and they said they would advise the owners but nothing happened and we had to purchase a new kettle ourselves which we then took home. I did leave a note in the chalet when we left. Apart from this we had a briliant stay.
Generally we spend nice quiet week. We like this place mostly for a nice view, good size of accommodation and really nice swimming pool which unfortunately was close becouse of pandemic. Path between lodges are not in good condition hill one that should be repaired. I was surprised as well that we was need to clean all forniture on veranda, they was not ready when we arrived, and very dirty after winter time. Is one of the places you could visit every year. Is really peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings of the nature.
Lovely cottage, kids really enjoyed, we had a great time and Christmas there. Even extended time that was planned. Thank you very much! Great location too.
Kristianne
We had a lovely week at Savita Cottage, helped by the Scottish weather being extremely kind to us. The cottage was very spacious and comfortable with all that we needed. The lodge park itself was quiet and well maintained with great facilities at centre, with a good swimming pool and lovely loungebar. Loads to explore around the area and we even fitted in a day trip to Belfast on the ferry. Our only point of improvement was that the carpets in the cottage were a bit tired so either need replacing or a good deep clean. We would love to come back though to Brunston Castle and that area of Scotland.
We had a very relaxing holiday. The cottage was so comfortable and homely. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The only downside is there is no shop or restaurant on site so having a car is useful, although the walk to the local village is nice and buses to Ayr and Girvan stop there.
Lesley
The cottage was in a really lovely position within the complex, right in the bottom corner. We would certainly stay again. The facilities on site looked good, although we didn't use the leisure complex. The reception staff were very polite and helpful too. We had a problem with the plug in the bath it had obviously been broken sometime with the previous guests and the cleaners hadn't reported it. We reported it to reception on the Sunday morning and it had been fixed before we arrived back at the lodgeexcellent service! The only negative comment about the cottage was that the cleaning on changeover day could be improved slightly and the windows hadn't been cleaned inside for a whileskirting boards in some areas were dusty.
What an amazing cottage. It was the first time 6 of us had been away. Wow the cleanliness was amazing and the site great for children with a play area, pool and indoor sports pool and table tennis. Amazing views truly a lovely place.
